The Impact Is For His Glory

The Impact Is For His Glory  Today is day 3 of our fast, and we're concluding our theme of IMPACT.  After reviewing hidden impact and the importance of tarrying, let us conclude with what our impact should yield. If we hold fast to the truth that "everyone who is called by My name, and whom I have created for My glory, whom I have formed, even whom I have made," (Isaiah 43:7) then we have the right perspective.  All of what we do is for the glory of God, " w hether, then, you eat or drink or  whatever you do, do all to the glory of God."(1 Corinthians 10:31) This truth keeps our eyes on Jesus and not on what we are producing or mans approval. When we work as unto the Lord we will always produce fruit because we are being led by our Father.  Let's take a look at what Paul told the church at Corinth when they were struggling with giving credit to men instead of God. " For when  one says, “I am of Paul,” and another, “I am of Apollos,” are you not mere me...

Tarry

Tarry Today is day 2 of our fast and we're continuing our theme of IMPACT.  In order to have impact we must learn to tarry. Matthew 26: 38   reads "t hen saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here , and watch with me." The Hebrew word for tarry is meno . According to blue letter bible meno means to stay (in a given place, state, relation or expectancy), abide, continue, dwell, endure, be present, remain, stand.  This is important to note.  To tarry is to stay. And the concept of staying can be quite difficult to embrace especially in a society that thrives on productivity. Productivity in and of itself is good but when it consumes our thinking and delays our time with the Lord we have a problem. Sitting in the presence of God is imperative to our growth as believers. In the Lord's presence we are renewed, encouraged, healed, delivered, set free, and comforted. And though culture embraces extreme productivity and a go getter...

Hidden Impact

Hidden Impact  Today is day 1 of our monthly fast! WHOO HOO! Next month's theme is IMPACT.   According to collinsdictionary. com to impact a situation, process, or person means to affect them. Impact can be positive or negative.  All our experiences leave some form of an impact. Think about where you were born, when, how?  Are you from a small family or a large family? Have you lived in the city of the suburbs? What high school did you attend? These questions if explored carefully, can lead us back to where certain thought patterns or behaviors may have originated. And in order for us to have an impact that honors God we must first explore what has impacted us, because it affects our perception or self and ultimately our identity.  Hidden impacts are birthed from experiences overtime. These experiences that aren't pondered over leave a lasting impression, so much so that it affects our thoughts and behaviors. Knowing which situations that have caused hidden imp...
