May I learn to Love You Lord... It is day 3 of our fast. And to conclude I wanted to place emphasis on growing in our love and knowledge of God. If we are to be zealous for God, then we have to know Him. And continue to enjoy learning about who He is. Psalm 91:14 reads   because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. Because he hath set his love upon me,  The Hebrew word for set his love is hasaq. Hasaq means to love, be attached to.  God wants us to love Him, to consider Him, and seek Him. He has already exemplified the most sacrificial love to us. Loving God is crucial to victory and spiritual growth. It's a matter of the heart that supersedes tasks. As humans we can get caught up in showing up but not actually showing up in heart.  Are You Zealous? It's day 2 of our monthly fast. And next month's focus is ZEALOUS. According to bible hub.com zealous is derived from the greek word "zelos" which conveys a sense of fervor, enthusiasm, or passionate commitment. In the biblical context being zealous often refers to an intense devotion to God, His commandments, and His purposes.  Ask yourself. Am I zealous for God? Do I seek God with fervency, enthusiasm in spite of my circumstances, or passionately with all my heart? If not, is there anything or anyone else in my life that I can compare that level of commitment that I should have for God with? Such as a career, school, friends, loved ones and the list could go on. In a world of distractions and counterfeits we're often faced with the challenge of choosing God over and over and over.
