May I learn to Love You Lord...

It is day 3 of our fast. And to conclude I wanted to place emphasis on growing in our love and knowledge of God. If we are to be zealous for God, then we have to know Him. And continue to enjoy learning about who He is.

Psalm 91:14 reads because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
Because he hath set his love upon me,

The Hebrew word for set his love is hasaq.
Hasaq means to love, be attached to.

God wants us to love Him, to consider Him, and seek Him. He has already exemplified the most sacrificial love to us.

Loving God is crucial to victory and spiritual growth. It's a matter of the heart that supersedes tasks. As humans we can get caught up in showing up but not actually showing up in heart. " I attended church, I spoke to that lady, I donated money "etc
And although all of these things have a rightful place. God wants our heart to be surrendered and fully seeking Him. God sees pass what we do outwardly. He sees our heart posture in everything we do.

Proverbs 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
What we produce whether it be thoughts or actions is a product of our heart. And if our hearts are after God then what flows from us will be for His glory.

We are all a result of our history, the way we process the things we have walked through, and the finished work of God along with our belief in Christ.  God knows all of who we are and He has chosen us to be His children. He is also ready to hear all about what you are walking through.  He is available, and we have a mighty sword, His word. The word of God teaches and corrects us so that we may live lives worthy of our calling.

Let's not miss out on seeking God diligently. What a privilege it is to be children of the Most High God.

Please read, reflect and pray the scriptures below

Deuteronomy 7:9
Know therefore that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God, who keeps [a]His covenant and [b]His lovingkindness to a thousandth generation with those who love Him and keep His commandments;

1 John 4: 15-16
Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. We have come to know and have believed the love which God has [d]for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.

Deuteronomy 6:5
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.

Take some time to reflect on the word today. Ask God to show you how to love Him in a way that honors Him. May we lay aside all hindering mindsets. God is not a man, don't compare Him to them. May we continue to learn about God through His word and in fellowship with bible believing christians.
Amen.
