Everyday Exchange

It is day 3! Glory to God! Today as we conclude our fast, let us reflect on the importance of allowing the great exchange to inform our everyday exchange with God.  To recap, exchange occurs when an individual gives up something and in turn becomes the recipient of something else. Have you considered that daily we are experiencing an exchange. In order for us to see Thy Kingdom come, we must be in fellowship with the Lord for direction in our everyday lives. We are giving up our will in exchange for God's will.  And you may know this very fact. And if you do, how often is that truth impacting the way you live out your days. There is a lot of noise around. Maybe you've considered how noisy life can be during this fast, since there is a level of quiet we experience when we say no to the flesh. In the past two days have you been able to identify the noise around you? Have you noticed how many things distract us from tuning into the Holy Spirit. We joke about social media...

The Greatest Exchange

Today is day 2 of our monthly fast and we're continuing our theme of the great exchange. The initial exchange between Adam, Eve and the serpent informed the need for the great exchange, which is Christ dying on our behalf so that we may be reconciled to God, and exchange condemnation for the original intent of our existence, communion with God. The great exchange is the greatest blessing known to man. There is no greater opportunity than a relationship with Jesus Christ. And like they say in Ghana " You are invited. " Hallelujah! We all are invited to exchange the stench of sin for a clean slate because of the work of Christ on the cross. This is deep! God's love is so rich that "He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God. "(2 Corinthians 5:21) According to merriam-webster .com/dictionary might is a term used to say that something is possible. The use of might in the above scripture emphasizes that...

The Initial Exchange

Today is day 1 of our monthly fast. Next month's theme is the great exchange . Before we dive into the greatest exchange known to man, let us reflect on the reason for the great exchange. Firstly an exchange between two individuals includes a person giving something away and that same person becoming the recipient of something else. We see the first exchange in the Bible between Adam, Eve and the Serpent. Adam and Eve gave away their freedom in the garden to gratify the lust of the flesh. In this case, the lust of the flesh was in regard to their appetite. Though we may find it hard to resonate with Adam and Eve, let's not assume that we would choose the route of obedience.  Not assuming allows us to have room to objectively look at ourselves. Prior to our profession of sin, we all walked in iniquity, " for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."(Romans 3:23) And even after the desire to walk in the Spirit, we still wrestle against principalities with a ...
