The Anointing Is Sustained By The Holy Spirit

The Anointing Is Sustained By The Holy Spirit  It's day 3 of our fast and we're concluding our study of the anointing .  To recap, the wilderness is apart of the anointing and obedience is imperative to anointing. Let's conclude with how to sustain the anointing.  We are anointed by the Spirit of God when we believe in Christ, and profess Him as Lord and Savior. We are then responsible for cultivating a life of holiness suitable for the indwelling Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 3:16 reads "don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in your midst." The anointing on our lives is to carry out the plan and purpose of God. Sometimes we walk through seasons that may seem counterintuitive to the fulfillment of the will of God. However those hard seasons are meant for our character development and dependence on our Heavenly Father. How can we presevere in the face of adversity as the children of God?  We cling to our Father. ...

The Anointing Requires Obedience

The Anointing Requires Obedience  It's day 2 of our fast and we're continuing with the theme the anointing .  Let's take a look at Jesus Himself, the Anointed One. Luke 4:18 reads "The Spirit of the Lord is on Me, because He has anointed Me to proclaim good news to the poor." Jesus Himself was anointed to carry out the calling of God upon His life.  In Matthew chapter 3 Jesus gets baptized by John. Matthew 3:16 reads "a fter being baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened, and  [ a ] he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove  and   [ b ] lighting on Him."   Then Jesus was led into the wilderness, where he experienced temptation, but He resisted through the Word and the enemy fled. Jesus, the Son of God was anointed for the plan and purpose of God.   And so are you! We are anointed with the Holy Spirit when we believe and confess Jesus as our Lord and Savior. God has a specific plan and purp...

The Wilderness Is Apart Of The Anointing

The Wilderness Is Apart Of The Anointing Today is day 1 of our monthly fast, and next month's theme is the   anointing.  In the Old Testament anointing was done by the pouring of oil on a person or item to set them apart for sacred use. When an individual was anointed often times the Holy Spirit would come upon them and empower them for their calling. Contrast to the new testament where anointing of the Holy Spirit initially comes by belief of Christ in our hearts and profession of faith with our mouths.  Either way we need the Holy Spirit to accomplish the plan and purpose of God in our lives. The anointing of God takes endurance , and is maintained through obedience .  King David was anointed king years before he walked in his kingship. During David's waiting season for God's promise his character and faithfulness was tried and matured. Before David succeeded the throne he fought animals while shepherding, defeated Goliath, and spent time in the wilderness ru...
