June Fast Day 1
Our focus this fast is kingdom synergy
According to Cambridge English Dictionary synergy is "the combined power of a group of things when they are working together that is greater than the total power achieved by each working separately". This is powerful!
Think about how this is applicable in our christian walk. Before we think about the power achieved in group activities, let us think about the power established in our lives when we profess our belief of God and received the Holy Spirit.
Immediately there is a spiritual shift that takes in place. The spiritual shift is really for our benefit. God does not need us. We need God. And God is gracious enough to not just call us, give us life eternally when we repent and seek Him, but He has also given us authority. John 15:5 reads I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. The key to us operating in power is our abiding in Christ. God has all power. But we have the privilege to access the power of Christ through the Holy Spirit when we operate in obedience to God's will in our lives.
Jesus, Himself exemplified the importance of commitment to the will of God and operating in the power of the Holy Spirit. Now we must acknowledge that Jesus is God Himself. All the power belongs to Him. Colossians 2: 9 reads for in Him all fullness of deity dwells.
This is an important truth to consider as we look at the life of our Savior. Jesus, being fully God and fully man, lived a surrendered life of faith and commitment to the plan of God. Jesus is the perfect example of what we can accomplish as children of God for the Kingdom of God when submitted to God and walking by the Spirit of God.
Lets make this personal
Ask yourself
What is my relationship with the Holy Spirit? The scripture says apart from God we accomplish nothing. Am I relying on the strength of the Holy Spirit to live this life?
Can I identify ways in which I have acknowledged the Holy Spirit today?
Can I identify areas that I can be more intentional about my need for guidance and reliance on the Spirit of God?
Meditate on the scriptures below and try praying them aloud
Matthew 28:18
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
John 5:19
Therefore Jesus answered and was saying to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever [e]the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner.
John 15: 5
I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.
Cry out to your Heavenly Father, He wants to hear from you. Make prayer your default today. And continue to profess the truths of God. Be strengthened. This abiding, meditating and waiting is apart of the work. Jesus said in John 4: 34, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to accomplish His work.
