He Made A Way

He Made A Way

Today is day 2 of our monthly fast, and we are continuing our theme of the Identity of Divinity

Let’s take it back to Genesis for a bit. God created humans in His image for He said “let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness.” (Genesis 1:24) This is important to note because when God created man He allowed man to have a level of dominion within parameters “as He said let them rule over the fish of of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth.” God, who has all dominion and power, in His love for humanity gave us privilege to also have dominion over the earth. However as we continue to read we know the dominion that was given was later lost due to disobedience.

God’s initial intent was to make man in His image, give man dominion over the earth, and have communion with him. God wants us to know Him. We read that after Adam and Eve sinned “they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and His wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden. Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you.” The signifies fellowship. God’s expectation was to meet Adam. And Adam and Eve’s familiarity with the sound of God walking is also evident of the fellowship they had established. After conversing with Adam we see a turn of events in the garden.

There are two things to be emphasized about the identity of God that we see in Genesis. God created man in His image, gave him dominion over the earth and an opportunity for fellowship with Him. Adam and Eve’s disobedience changed the course of history at this time. Death entered as a result of sin “for dust you are, and dust you shall return.” (Genesis 3:19) The dominion Adam had was given to the enemy and a mediator was needed to commune with God, for “every high priest is selected from among the people and appointed to represent the people in matters related to God, to offer gifts and sacrifices for sin.” (Hebrews 5:1)

But glory be to God for sending His “only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” (John 3:16) God made a way! And now what was lost has been REDEEMED. We can all identify with being lost and the redemption of God saving us from sin and death. We are privileged to be children of the most High God. Jesus “disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public display of them, having triumphed over them through Him.” (Colossians 2:15) For in him all the fullness of deity dwells in bodily form.” (Colossians 2:9) Jesus redeemed what was taken from humans in the garden, and He reconciled our relationship to God. We can now commune with God because Jesus paid the price for our sins. We now have access to the throne of God because Jesus has become our mediator. God Himself made a sacrifice and way for us humans to know Him. A great price was paid so that fellowship was restored to the Father. May we consider this privilege that is so easily taken for granted or misunderstood. The veil is torn! Whoop Whoop! The God of the universe loves us beyond measure. And He paid the ultimate price so that we may know Him, fellowship with Him, and spend eternity with Him! Hallelujah! No greater love than this. Glory to God.

Read, pray and meditate on the scriptures below

Revelations 4:11

“Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created.”

Romans 1:20

For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse”

John 1:3

“All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.”

Glory be to God! God has done all things with intention, and that includes creating us in this specific time in history. May we spend time today meditating on the power and sovereignty of God. Let us pray for a greater desire to know God and enjoy that fellowship we now have because of Jesus. Hallelujah! What an honor to be His child!
