The One

The One

Today is day 3, and we’re concluding our study of the Identity of Divinity. To conclude the identity of divinity should inform how we live our lives. Our knowledge of God is meant to draw us nearer and increase our fellowship with Him. We have the beautiful privilege of being His child. We no longer need an earthly priest to be our mediator, Christ has made a way for us to now be reconciled. And we have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the surpassing greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves.” (2 Corinthians 4:7)

The treasure within us is the Holy Spirit! Hallelujah!

Father God is in heaven and at his right hand is Jesus, “He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places.” (Ephesians 1:20) But God sent us a helper, for Jesus said “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.” (John 14:26)

Have you talked to the Holy Spirit today? Have you acknowledged His presence, asked Him to help you pray or reveal truth to you? For Jesus said  “when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.” (John 16:13)

It’s easy for us to do all the seemingly right things and miss the most important thing. Sometimes we are moved by the aesthetic of things without considering the responsibility it takes to steward the blessing God allows us. We may want to experience the power of God, but lack the discipline in our pursuit of God and fellowship with Him. Be not disheartened if you can relate. Today is a new day, and “the steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” (Lamentations 2:22-23) Knowledge has the potential to transform any area of our lives if we allow it for we know the Lord says “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” (Hosea 4:6)

Today may we consider the gift within us. God is THE ONE. In a world where we are constantly searching for things to validate our worth, solidify our independence, catch up with others or compare ourselves to the masses, we have the privilege of enjoying fellowship with the greatest treasure known to man. We have the privilege of cultivating a relationship that can change the trajectory of how we experience this life. We will finally have the best friend, intercessor, comforter and the list goes on. God is sufficient. Though we’re blessed with friends and family, God will always be our source. May we acknowledge and build a strong relationship with the promised Holy Spirit whom we received the day we believed and proclaimed the mighty name of Jesus.

Please read, pray and meditate on the scriptures below

2 Corinthians 4:7

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the surpassing greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves.”

Romans 8:26

In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.”

John 14:16-17

I will ask the Father, and He will give you another [b]Helper, that He may be with you forever; that isthe Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.”

May we pray today for greater intentionality in our fellowship with the Holy Spirit. May we pray that we do not grieve the Holy Spirit. Pray for greater understanding of the identity of God. The Lord has blessed us with His Word and our pursuit of God can only make our life experience richer. Glory to God!
