The Greatest Exchange
Today is day 2 of our monthly fast and we're continuing our theme of the great exchange. The initial exchange between Adam, Eve and the serpent informed the need for the great exchange, which is Christ dying on our behalf so that we may be reconciled to God, and exchange condemnation for the original intent of our existence, communion with God. The great exchange is the greatest blessing known to man. There is no greater opportunity than a relationship with Jesus Christ. And like they say in Ghana "You are invited." Hallelujah!
We all are invited to exchange the stench of sin for a clean slate because of the work of Christ on the cross. This is deep! God's love is so rich that "He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God. "(2 Corinthians 5:21) According to merriam-webster .com/dictionary might is a term used to say that something is possible. The use of might in the above scripture emphasizes that this exchange is contingent upon our free will to choose Christ. This beautiful exchange can only be experienced through our profession of faith in Christ and submission to the will of God.
This truth, may not be new to you. And sometimes when we're familiar with a subject it desensitives how we receive the truth and process it because the information already has a space in our minds. But if you can, take a moment and truly ponder upon the magnitude of the greatest exchange. Sin requires something to be given up, "for the wages of sin is death." Romans 6:23 It may be hard to quantify that when weighing self gratification against an eternal reward that we may not be able to comprehend in the natural. But we were due a penalty for our disobedience and God in His love and mercy sent Jesus, that we may be washed clean and have communion with Him. This exchange not only washes our transgression but we also get to enjoy the privilege of communion with God the Father and we have the promised Holy Spirit to guide us in all truth. We are no longer penalized and "if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's descendants, heirs according to promise."(Galatians 3:29)
May you read the pray the scriptures below
Hebrews 9:15
"For this reason He is the mediator of a new covenant, so that, since a death has taken place for the redemption of the transgressions that were committed under the first covenant, those who have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance."
Matthew 20:28
"just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many."
Romans 10:9
"that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;"
Today may we spend time meditating on the goodness of God. Let's express our gratitude for the finished work on the cross in our prayer time today, offering sacrifices of joy. There is no greater love known to man than the love of God. Hallelujah!
