His Word
His Word
Today is day 3 of our fast, and we're concluding our study on brilliancy.
We've observed the importance of meditating on who God is, and the profound impact of tarrying in His presence. Let us end with a charge to come into alignment with the precepts of God. The definition of brilliancy includes excellence or distinction in physical or mental ability. We know that God is all knowing, "great is our Lord and abundant in strength; His understanding is infinite."(Psalm 147:5)
God's infinite understanding can only produce great instruction and direction. And this is important for us as we navigate what it means to be a child of God and surrender to His will and purpose. We have the privilege to have access to the Word of God at all times, and we have the indwelling Holy Spirit if we have professed Jesus as our Lord and Savior, who reminds us of all truth.
We need to saturate our minds with the truth of God, so that we may be transformed and operating in a manner that is worthy of the calling upon our lives. Israel was led out of Egypt, and given provision, while they grumbled. Moses gave them the law and precepts so they could live upright before the Lord, and in an instance of delay they sinned. "Now when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mountain, the people assembled about Aaron and said to him, “Come, make us a god who will go before us; as for this Moses, the man who brought us up from the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.”(Exodus 32:1)
The above passage if evidence of the feebleness of man. Though delivered, Israel often referenced their old way of life as a standard. Even though they experienced signs and miracles, delay obliterated their memory. May we not forget. If we do, may the Holy Spirit remind us of truth. May we remember to seek God daily upon rising, committing our very steps to Him, so that He can lead us in the path of righteousness. We are in spiritual warfare. Israel making idols, was spiritual warfare, though they may not have recognized it as such.
The Word of God is transformative. "All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work."(2 Timothy 3:16-17) Let us commit to pursing God's presence daily, through worship, prayer, and reading the Scriptures. This will guard our hearts and minds and fortify the truth of God in our lives. We will learn to wait, with expectation rather than fear or presumption.
Read, meditate on, and pray the scriptures below
Isaiah 40:31
"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."
Matthew 4:4
"But He answered and said it is written, man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God."
1 Peter 2:2
"like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation,"
Continue to reflect on the goodness of God and all His wondrous works. Pray for a desire for God's presence daily. Pray for a desire for the word of God, that it may guide you. The Lord is doing a new thing in each of us. Don't rush the process. There is an appointed time for all things. Our responsibility is sitting at His feet and waiting for His lead.
