There Is Healing In The Stillness
Today is day 3 of our fast, and we’re concluding our observation of being still. To recap being still, also known as rapa in Hebrew means to sink, relax, let drop. Being still takes intention and practice. When we are still before the Lord we say no to distractions and allocate our time so that we invest in what is necessary, which is time in the presence of God. In that stillness we receive revelation and healing.
Healing is for each of us in Christ for “He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.”( Isaiah 53:5) Healing is our portion. Scripture refers to healing as the children’s bread. Hallelujah! Healing can be a complex subject because it can look different for each person. We know our God can do all things and how He heals each one of us is unique to His specific plan and purpose in our lives. We may not even realize we are in need of healing. But the healing and restoration of our souls is for all of us. For even the psalmist wrote “He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.” (Psalms 23:3
We may be able to identify our wounds, but find difficulty in receiving healing. And that’s ok. We can all start with stillness. “For thus says the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel: “In returning and rest you shall be saved; In quietness and confidence shall be your strength.” There it is! When we rest in God and cultivate an atmosphere that’s conducive to His presence we experience rest, confidence and ultimately healing. It is in those moments God reveals who He is and in turn transforms our very hearts.
May you read and meditate on the scriptures below
Luke 1:37
“For with God nothing will be impossible.”
Matthew 11:28
“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 6:33
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”
Today as we continue to meditate on the goodness of God may we be vulnerable with Him. God knows everything there is to know about us, but He truly wants us to share our hearts with Him. Ask the Lord to show you areas in your life that you need healing. Pray over each area and ask the Lord to strengthen and equip you for the journey. Healing is your portion.
