The Anointing Is Sustained By The Holy Spirit

The Anointing Is Sustained By The Holy Spirit  It's day 3 of our fast and we're concluding our study of the anointing .  To recap, the wilderness is apart of the anointing and obedience is imperative to anointing. Let's conclude with how to sustain the anointing.  We are anointed by the Spirit of God when we believe in Christ, and profess Him as Lord and Savior. We are then responsible for cultivating a life of holiness suitable for the indwelling Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 3:16 reads "don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in your midst." The anointing on our lives is to carry out the plan and purpose of God. Sometimes we walk through seasons that may seem counterintuitive to the fulfillment of the will of God. However those hard seasons are meant for our character development and dependence on our Heavenly Father. How can we presevere in the face of adversity as the children of God?  We cling to our Father. ...

The Anointing Requires Obedience

The Anointing Requires Obedience  It's day 2 of our fast and we're continuing with the theme the anointing .  Let's take a look at Jesus Himself, the Anointed One. Luke 4:18 reads "The Spirit of the Lord is on Me, because He has anointed Me to proclaim good news to the poor." Jesus Himself was anointed to carry out the calling of God upon His life.  In Matthew chapter 3 Jesus gets baptized by John. Matthew 3:16 reads "a fter being baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened, and  [ a ] he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove  and   [ b ] lighting on Him."   Then Jesus was led into the wilderness, where he experienced temptation, but He resisted through the Word and the enemy fled. Jesus, the Son of God was anointed for the plan and purpose of God.   And so are you! We are anointed with the Holy Spirit when we believe and confess Jesus as our Lord and Savior. God has a specific plan and purp...

The Wilderness Is Apart Of The Anointing

The Wilderness Is Apart Of The Anointing Today is day 1 of our monthly fast, and next month's theme is the   anointing.  In the Old Testament anointing was done by the pouring of oil on a person or item to set them apart for sacred use. When an individual was anointed often times the Holy Spirit would come upon them and empower them for their calling. Contrast to the new testament where anointing of the Holy Spirit initially comes by belief of Christ in our hearts and profession of faith with our mouths.  Either way we need the Holy Spirit to accomplish the plan and purpose of God in our lives. The anointing of God takes endurance , and is maintained through obedience .  King David was anointed king years before he walked in his kingship. During David's waiting season for God's promise his character and faithfulness was tried and matured. Before David succeeded the throne he fought animals while shepherding, defeated Goliath, and spent time in the wilderness ru...
May I learn to Love You Lord... It is day 3 of our fast. And to conclude I wanted to place emphasis on growing in our love and knowledge of God. If we are to be zealous for God, then we have to know Him. And continue to enjoy learning about who He is. Psalm 91:14 reads   because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. Because he hath set his love upon me,  The Hebrew word for set his love is hasaq. Hasaq means to love, be attached to.  God wants us to love Him, to consider Him, and seek Him. He has already exemplified the most sacrificial love to us. Loving God is crucial to victory and spiritual growth. It's a matter of the heart that supersedes tasks. As humans we can get caught up in showing up but not actually showing up in heart. " I attended church, I spoke to that lady, I donated money "etc And although all of these things have a rightful place. God wants our heart to be surrendered and full...
Are You Zealous? It's day 2 of our monthly fast. And next month's focus is ZEALOUS. According to bible hub.com zealous is derived from the greek word "zelos" which conveys a sense of fervor, enthusiasm, or passionate commitment. In the biblical context being zealous often refers to an intense devotion to God, His commandments, and His purposes.  Ask yourself. Am I zealous for God? Do I seek God with fervency, enthusiasm in spite of my circumstances, or passionately with all my heart? If not, is there anything or anyone else in my life that I can compare that level of commitment that I should have for God with? Such as a career, school, friends, loved ones and the list could go on. In a world of distractions and counterfeits we're often faced with the challenge of choosing God over and over and over. And remember some good things can also distract us. We however, want everything to be in the right order. GOD FIRST ALWAYS Let's look at the life of a man who ...

June Fast Day 3

So we've looked at kingdom synergy in regards to the power of the Holy Spirit and our faith.  Let's look at how kingdom Synergy is imperative to the body of Christ.  1 Corinthians 12: 14-20  For the body is not one member , but many .   If the foot says, “Because I am not a hand, I am not  a part  of the body,” it is not for this reason any the less  a part  of the body.   And if the ear says, “Because I am not an eye, I am not  a part  of the body,” it is not for this reason any the less  a part  of the body.   If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole were hearing, where would the sense of smell be?   But now God has placed the members, each one of them, in the body, just as He desired.   If they were all one member, where would the body be?   But now there are many members, but one body. The above passage of scripture emphasizes  th...

June Fast Day 1

Our focus this fast is kingdom synergy  According to Cambridge English Dictionary synergy is "the combined power of a group of things when they are working together that is greater than the total power achieved by each working separately". This is powerful!  Think about how this is applicable in our christian walk. Before we think about the power achieved in group activities, let us think about the power established in our lives when we profess our belief of God and received the Holy Spirit.  Immediately there is a spiritual shift that takes in place. The spiritual shift is really for our benefit. God does not need us. We need God. And God is gracious enough to not just call us, give us life eternally when we repent and seek Him, but He has also given us authority. John 15:5 reads  I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him , he  bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing . The key to us operating in power is our abidin...
